Community as Medicine: Grounding Psychedelic Healing in Policy and Connection

Tree-Hugging Earth-Mama Bear & Community Builder | Bridging Modern Policy & Earth-Centered Ways

Mary Olivar is a nonprofit leader and servant-leader dedicated to bridging worlds—from kale to consciousness, ancient wisdom to modern policy. As Co-Executive Director of Texans for Greater Mental Health, she drives public education, awareness, and policy reform to expand statewide access to innovative and psychedelic mental health therapies. With “one foot in the jungle and one in the Capitol,” Mary also serves with the Center for Shamanic Education and Exchange, supporting the preservation of Indigenous wisdom traditions. A true Earth-Mama bear and mother of three, her life’s work is rooted in community building. Mary invites us to explore how community is our most potent medicine—and the soil where lasting transformation takes root.
