Leonard Pickard

Leonard is one of the true living legends of the early psychedelic movement. A chemist by training, he was convicted in the largest LSD manufacturing case in U.S. history and served 20 years of a life sentence before being granted compassionate release in 2020. While incarcerated he wrote The Rose of Paracelsus, a 656-page semi-autobiographical work, and he’s since become a sought-after voice on drug policy, civil liberties, and the psychedelic renaissance — he’s spoken at Horizons, Breaking Convention, and Psychedelics as Medicine, among others, always drawing a rapt audience. He’s also a former drug policy fellowat Harvard’s Kennedy School and a research associate in neurobiology at Harvard Medical School, and he famously warned of the coming fentanyl epidemic back in the 1990s.
