Dr. Evan Wood is the Chief Medical Officer at Numinus. He has published over 500 scientific articles which have contributed to the establishment of innovative policy and therapeutic programs. Early in his career, Dr. Wood’s research contributed to the revision of international guidelines for the treatment of HIV infection among persons who use drugs. He subsequently led efforts that contributed to the legalization of adult cannabis use in Canada, the establishment of supervised injecting as a standard of care nationally, and internationally recognized clinical therapeutic guidelines for a range of substance use disorders. Dr. Wood has been a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair and Professor of Medicine at the University of British Columbia and was the founding Executive Director of the British Columbia Centre on Substance Use.
