Grandfather fire is our elder, our teacher, our healer and a portal into the spiritual world.
The most ancient spirit on the planet, the one that has been here since the beginning of time, the one that carries all the wisdom of the universe.
The fire represents the heart of the Earth and is connected to our hearts, it has the power to illuminate and transform our lives.
Participants will have the opportunity to deeply connect with the spirit of the fire, receive a purification blessing and release blockages.
The Water is the lifeblood of Mother Earth, the first foundation of life. It has the power to cleanse, purify and bless everything it touches.
Participants will receive a water blessing of a collection of waters from many different sacred sites, activated through ceremony, where it becomes a powerful medicine that can touch us deeply, release stuck emotions, energetic stagnation, provide healing, clarity and fluidity in our being as well as open paths for our lives.
Through the sacred songs and ancient ceremony ways of the Wixarika people, a healing space will be opened, in which the spirit of these elements and of the guardians of sacred sites in México (ones where Oscar has spiritual commitments) will manifest and bless participants.
Matzuwa Oscar comes from the Yoreme people of Sinaloa, Mexico. He has been a pilgrim of the Wirikuta desert for over 16 years, learning within the Wixarika tradition. He has taken the sacred oath as a marakame (spiritual guide) in Wirikuta as well as different spiritual initiations and vision quests which also granted him the fire to run Inipis (Sweat Lodges).
Matzuwa is a traditional singer and musician, a member of the Native American church, and also a carrier of the Half Moon Altar. Oscar is also an anthropologist specialized in traditional medicine, he wrote his thesis on the traditional and medicinal uses of Peyote.
