Although the use of psilocybin mushrooms spans millennia, the majority of clinical studies have focused on the molecule, not the mushroom. Psilocybin mushrooms contain tryptamines closely related to psilocybin which also bind to neuroreceptors. By studying the activity and co-occurrence of these tryptamines in the neuroscape, there is compelling evidence that the entourage effect provides benefits far greater than psilocybin/psilocin alone, and enhanced activity at microdosing levels. This entourage effect is further enhanced by niacin and other mushroom
mycelial extracts.
