Indigenous medicine ceremonies highlight the importance of set and setting, and even describe the combination of ceremony and medicine as a technology. Today, advances in technology make it possible to both monitor the physical and mental human state. Through the senses of sight, sound, smell, hearing and touch, technology can be used to shift the internal human state in body and mind.
